Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
The short version: this is a personal portfolio. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking pixels. The only personal data I receive is what you voluntarily email me through the contact form.
1. Who is responsible for this site
This website (landonliedtke.com) is operated by Landon Liedtke as a personal portfolio. You can reach me at [email protected] for any privacy question or request.
2. What data is collected
2.1 Contact form
The contact form asks for your name, email address, message, and an optional company name — the minimum needed to reply to you. When you press “Send”, your own email application opens with a pre-filled message. Nothing is transmitted to or stored on this site's server by the form itself. If you choose to send the email, the data travels through your own email provider, and I retain the conversation only as long as needed to respond and for ordinary record-keeping.
2.2 Server logs
Like nearly every website, the web server (self-hosted) automatically records standard technical logs — IP address, browser user-agent, requested pages, and timestamps. These logs are used exclusively for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, are not combined with other data, and are rotated automatically (typically within 30 days).
2.3 Local storage on your device
The site saves a cached preview of the résumé PDF in your browser's local storage purely so the viewer opens faster next time. This data never leaves your device, and you can delete it at any time through your browser settings. See the Cookie Policy for details. No consent banner is shown because the site sets no non-essential cookies or storage.
3. What is NOT collected
- No analytics or usage-tracking software (no Google Analytics or similar).
- No advertising, marketing, or social-media tracking pixels.
- No sale, rental, or sharing of personal data with third parties for their marketing.
- No accounts, newsletters, or profiling.
4. Third-party services
The following third parties may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) when their resources are loaded:
- Google Fonts — provides the fonts used on the main pages. Loading fonts discloses your IP address to Google. (Google Privacy Policy)
- unpkg (CDN) — delivers the open-source PDF.js library used to preview PDF documents (résumé, education plans) when you open a document viewer.
- Cloudflare — provides DNS and TLS/security proxying for the domain and may process connection data to protect the site.
This site does not embed third-party content such as maps, videos, or social widgets. Outbound links (LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube, Instagram, Unsplash, Reddit, Facebook, Discord, Buy Me a Coffee) take you to third-party sites that have their own privacy policies; this policy no longer applies once you leave this site.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, processing is based on: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for the contact form, which you may withdraw at any time by emailing me; and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for security-related server logs and fast document previews stored only on your own device.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because this site stores almost no data, most requests will concern an email conversation — just email me and I will act on verifiable requests within a reasonable time.
California residents: this site does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and does not use cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal data, contact me and I will delete it.
8. Security and retention
The site is served over HTTPS. Server logs are retained briefly and rotated; contact emails are kept only as long as needed for the conversation and ordinary records. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but I keep the data footprint deliberately minimal to reduce risk.
9. International transfers
Third-party providers listed above (Google, Cloudflare, unpkg) may process data in countries other than yours under their own safeguards and transfer mechanisms.
10. Changes to this policy
If I change how data is handled — for example, if analytics are ever added — I will update this page and the “Last updated” date, and, where required, ask for consent again.
